The situation in Ukraine threatens the lives of millions of men, women and children who, through no fault of their own, will be forced to make the heart-breaking decision to leave their homes behind in search of safety.
Refugees, including those fleeing Ukraine, have had their lives and families torn apart by war.
With the conflict in Ukraine adding to the record numbers of people displaced by conflict, we expect to see thousands of refugees arriving in the UK (including Romsey and surrounding areas) over the coming months in desperate need of a warm welcome and expert support.
We at Braishfield Bees Youth Football Club want to support where we can and are looking to bring a bit of hope, joy, happiness, fun and respite for 1 or 2 hours a week. One thing that everyone relates to around the globe whether we be a father, mother, son or daughter is football…the beautiful game brings people together even if we speak different languages but, once a football is placed on the ground the connection is fantastic.
We’d like to hear from anybody within the area who has kindly taken in refugees and have children staying with them from 6 to 18.
Although the football season has finished we want to offer free training sessions/maybe a game or two at Mountbatten School every Wednesday, 5.30 to 7.30pm in July and August so the children can have some fun…
